Fenny Bentley - Peak District Walk
Tuesday 15th April 2014
As we were planning on walking on Good Friday I wanted a relatively easy walk today and this walk fitted the bill nicely.
Start: Tissington Station car park (SK 1778 5210)
Route: Tissington Station car park - Tissington Trail - Thorpe Station - Fenny Bentley - Lees Farm - Darfield Lane - Tissington Station car park
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: 158 metres Time Taken: 2 hours 30 mins
Terrain: Fields and easy tracks
Weather: Sunny and warm
Pub Visited: None Ale Drunk: None
Heading south along the Tissington Trail, which is somewhat unusual
for me as I'm normally heading north when I walk along here.
Despite appearances the trail was very busy with families making the most of the sunshine and the school holidays.
After leaving the Tissington Trail my route took me across fields to Fenny Bentley.
My route took me across this delightful little footbridge.
Dropping down into Fenny Bentley and the views were extensive and include most of my return route
Across the valley Bank Top is visible.
I cut through the churchyard.
My only company after leaving the Tissington Trail was sheep, lambs and cows.
After passing Lees Farm my route took me through fields and by this unnamed wood.
